I don't play FB games, but shouldn't there be a way to correspond with your Farmville or Mafia Wars friends about these things as a group instead of clogging up my newsfeed with this stuff.... ?

Do you mean people are putting these messages in their status updates? I play MW, but I never post about it. Occasionally, I'll let the app post something for me, but that's easy enough to hide. I hide every app I don't use from my newsfeed,

Leigha, yeah, these people (I had quite a few yesterday and today) are posting these as regular statuses.

I'm so disenchanted with FB the past few months as it becomes a lot more low brow, virus-y, and chain forward-y.

Ok, well in that case, yes, there is a way people could send messages via the application so that they would be hidden from you if you chose to hide the app. I've done that before. If they need something, they can publish their "wish list" with a message attached. There is no need to put it in a status update. I prefer to keep my game stuff blockable because I know how annoying seeing it is from my friends and family who play every game FB ever invented!

I hate that the FB iPhone app doesn't honor your hidden items. So when I check FB from my Touch, I have to see all that crap.

Mamie - including that stuff in your regular status is a quick way for my friends to be hidden off of my newsfeed.

Is there a way to put someone on a limited profile but for them to not know about it? I have a coworker who is very nice but is so nice it gets on my nerves. She sent a friend request and I accepted to keep the peace at work where I see her multiple times a day. I would like to post work gripes and share with other friends that I'm interviewing for promotions but she reads everything I post religiously and will email me 20 questions if she sees something she didn't know before. I don't want to hurt her feelings but I would like to not have to edit all of my posts for her.

lucky, you can put her on a limited profile and block your updates - She won't get a notice about it, but if she's that stalker-ish, she may notice that you never post updates anymore.

I think you can block specific people from specific updates, so you don't have to block her from all your updates, just the ones you don't want her to read. BUT if you have a mutual friend, they may be able to see it on that person's page if they respond to it, I think.

I know she wouldn't get a notice but if she is on a limited profile, it will say something beside my name when she pulls up her friends list. I may just need to start blocking certain people from posts because we do have a few mutual friends/coworkers. Ugh!

I don't know what Facebook is constantly uploading to my computer, but it takes forever for a profile or photo to show up. Sometimes it's not even worth going there because I can never get to people's pictures!

Honestly FB sucks so hard right now! I just deleted like 60 people. The thought of having all of these people having access to my photos freaks me out. I would love to delete my account or start a super secret one with just close friends (no family!!!)

I would have already, but don't want to lose the candid pics from our wedding.
