DH is 2nd generation Irish-American, and we really want to use an Irish name for a boy if that's what we end up having. We were looking at lists of Irish names last night and think we might like Finn for a boy's name. You all know our last name from FB, so Finn M***** is very Irish.
Are we setting a kid up for constant mocking with the name Finn? We tried very hard to think of obscene things it might rhyme with, but couldn't think of anything. It's an unusual name in this county (outside of Boston anyway), but we don't think it's so unusual that our kid would get made fun of.
I need outside opinions before I commit. Yes, I know there is a character on Glee named Finn, but that was not our inspiration.

Re: What do you think of this name?
This.
I also like Connor and Patrick. However, DH saw what it was like for his father and brother to both be named James and doesn't want a son with the same first name as him. Connor would probably be my other choice along with Finn.

Aww, that's so cute!
Ahh, that's one we probably wouldn't have thought of. I'll mention it to DH tonight and see what he says.
I wouldn't worry too much about nicknames- I don't know anyone who doesn't have a nickname of some kind. Plus I didn't read Huck Finn till I was in HS anyway.
