Going to be gorgeous this weekend - what should I do?
I am definitely planning to spend the weekend outside, soaking up all the sunshine & warm weather. Any suggestions around the Raleigh area of stuff to do outside?
Re: Going to be gorgeous this weekend - what should I do?
lol. Vermont Bride, unfortunately your first two suggestions are pretty much going to be identical--except I'm running my first 1/2 marathon tomorrow (the NC 1/2 Marathon). Then going to work in my garden.
Are there any nice parks or gardens you've been meaning to check out? Many of my early spring flowers are open and looking beautiful so I think a garden would be a good place to visit. Or maybe you could START a small garden (even a container garden is better than none?) Do you have a bike that you haven't ridden in awhile? Maybe this weekend would be a good time to inflate those tires and get out on some nice area bike paths and enjoy a picnic with your DH? Visit the farmers market? (Though there won't be tons of produce, some may at least have small seedlings to help start your garden!)
Either way, I hope you enjoy it. I'm VERY much looking forward to this weekend!
We're having a truckload of mulch delivered today, so that sums up our weekend. If we weren't working in the yard, here are some things we might do:
-Go to Duke Gardens, take a lunch, and walk around
-Go for a walk/hike at Umstead
-Flea Market at the Fairgrounds
-Farmer's Market
-Have a beer (or two) somewhere downtown that has a patio
I was thinking about taking a walk/hike, but was looking to go someplace new. We often head to Umstead, but need a change of scenery.
I also thought about the farmer's market, but our last trip there was pretty disappointing just b/c the produce is so limited right now, but that very possibly may be on our list - we still love just wandering around.
Anyone know how Duke Gardens is looking these days? Maybe we could head out there for a picnic lunch...
come over and visit Brooke and I !! hehe. :-) We might be taking a local walk either Sat. or Sun. around 4-5ish if you are interested.... I've got the jogging stroller on our 'to-buy' so after we get that, we'll be able to do the lake, etc.
Re. Duke Gardens -- It was exactly a year ago I had my maternity pictures done out there and it was gorgeous!!! Flowers/trees in bloom, etc. Given the recent nice weather, I bet it would be pretty nice out there this weekend.
