Oh my God, Days of Our Lives!
My sister, who is 12 years older than me, was hooked on this show as a teenager, so I've been watching on and off for my entire life - even back to the days when Vivian buried Carly alive.... then there was Marlena's exocism... and Marlena's killing spree... and Sammy being one continual b!tch......and Hope's return...
But I've been out of the loop since I left college! What's going on these days?

I've been a long time watcher too from the days of Carrie and Austin...oh those were the good shows. It got all out of whack there for awhile the alien twins so I stopped watching.
Let's see:
Marlena left last year or so I think (and John went BSC cause of Stefeno and died maybe...) Stefeno left and came back and is married to Kate.
Bo and Hope are going through a rough patch, Bo is hooking up with Carly who is back in town. Carly came back to find her daughter, Melanie. Vivian tried to ruin Carly's life by killing Melanie on her wedding day via a poison comb for her hair (Victor found out and switched the combs). FAIL on Vivians part, but carly being the mama bear was keeping an eye out on Mel and came to the wedding to shoot Vivian but ended up shooting Mel. So then it all came out about Carly being her mother and now she hates Carly for giving her up and not telling Daniel he is Mel's father.
Carly was supposed to be sentenced for the shooting, but Melanie came to the hearing and stopped her from pleading guilty, but as a favor for Daniel not Carly. Mel and Philip moved in with Maggie, who showing signs of poor health, but won't admit it. Maggie's husband died, sad. Mel is still in love with Nathan. She tried giving him a letter before the wedding, but Stephanie didn't give it to him because she wanted to be with him. Nathan is finding this out now...
Samantha's ex plotted and kidnapped her daughter (his daughter too) in revenge for making him believe that the kid died. Nicole (E.J's wife, now ex) found out Sami was pregnant and swtiched the kid with some 16 year kids. She also let Sami believe that Sydney (the child of Sammi and EJ) died but when really it was the 16 years olds baby that died. Nicole tried to run with Sydney, but was knocked out by Tony's (who is dead) wife. Took Sydney to a cabin owned by EJ, and took care of her. EJ was planning to take Sydney out of the country but decided to stay and watchy Sami suffer. Well, they "found" Sydney, when EJ decided to pay the ransom. Rafe, Sami's bf, is hot on the trail in figuring this all out and so is Nicole who is remember everything prior to being hit on the head and is now questing Anna. Nicole wants Anna to get her out of prison.
There is some weird love thingy going on with the 16 year old who had the baby (Mia) and the baby daddy (chad), Will and Raef's littlest sister.
Whew!! I'm sure there is a lot I'm missing! Sorry for the run-ons! I miss the old school Days of Our Lives, I feel like it getting back to normal.
And holy craap that was long! haha. Kelliejo is fan too, she can probably fill you in on a whole lot more than I can.
Whatever happened with Belle, Brady and Army Guy? I remember there was some retarded love triangle going on there..

Oh gosh, I forget what happend with Belle. There were a couple of different Belles before her exiting the show. I think she ran off with Shawn or maybe Shawn ran off with Mimi..
Brady was in love with Nicole for awhile, but is now engaged to Arianna (Rafe's other little sister).
Sorry I'm late on this one, but I'm a huge fan too!
I DVR it everyday and catch up on weekends. Unfortunately with the Olympics, they were still running new episodes of Days every morning at like 2am, so they all piled up on me and I couldn't catch up because I kept watching the Olympics at night and on weekends! I'm like 2 weeks behind STILL!
Anyway... to hopefully fill in some gaps...
Stefano and Kate is a weird deal. Kate poisoned Chloe when she was married to Lucas. Kate didn't like Chloe and Chloe and Lucas eloped to Vegas, so Kate freaked out and wanted to kill her. Oh, and Chloe was lusting after Daniel the whole time and Kate found out... so that didn't help. Unfortunately, the poison didn't take and Chloe recovered (as they always do, haha). While she was in a coma, her friends were trying to prove that Kate did it and Daniel actually got her confession on tape. So, Kate tied Daniel up somewhere and left him to die. Of course, he got out and was going to use the fact that she tried to kill him too as proof that she poisoned Chloe, so Kate asked for Stefano's help. He basically had his "men" clean up her crime scene where Daniel was tied up before the police saw it. In return, Kate had to marry Stefano. It kind of came out of nowhere... I didn't think someone like Stefano would WANT to be married, but I guess he did. The wedding was really heartbreaking because she didn't want to do it. Victor was hilarious, though. Since then, they seem okay. She lives with him in the mansion and everything.
Belle and Shawn... ahh, the good old days! They haven't been on for years. They don't come back for holidays or weddings or anything. Their "reason" for leavings was that once they got married, they wanted to sail around the world like Bo and Hope did. Nobody has seen them or heard from them since.
I don't think we've mentioned Sidney yet. This was so weird, but it's been a main storyline. EJ got Nicole and Sami pregnant at the same time - I think it was a day or 2 apart... he's a slut. Sami witnessed a random crime and got put in witness protection, so she never told EJ that she was pregnant. (Rafe actually came from her being in witness protection - he was her body guard.) Meanwhile, Nicole DOES tell EJ she's pregnant and they get engaged. She has a miscarriage a few months in but freaks out and doesn't tell EJ! She thinks if he finds out she's not pregnant, he'll leave her, so she fakes the rest of the pregnancy. Some shady doctor sets her up with a 16-yr old (Mia) who is pregnant too but wants to give her baby up for adoption (well, I think it was a black market kind of thing, not a legit adoption). Somehow, Nicole found out that Sami is pregnant and due at the same time as Mia, so she switched the babies!
Her thought was "at least I'm giving EJ his own baby," and it worked for almost a year. Sami went home with Mia's baby and she (Grace) ended up dying after a few months. After her death, Sami told EJ - to piss him off, I guess. 
Mia started acting weird about everything and told her friends that she had a baby and gave it up and it all came out about what Nicole did. EJ kicked her out and she went to prison and Sami got Sidney back. Nicole was bailed out and she stole Sidney and ran away! But Sidney was stolen from Nicole in the middle of her own kidnapping! It turned out that EJ hired Anna DiMera (Tony's wife) to do it and she's been taking care of Sidney for months now. EJ's just keeping Sidney from Sami to watch her suffer. I'm a couple weeks behind, so I'm not sure if this story has developed more by now.
Right now, this baby storyline, Carly/Bo, and Carly/Melanie are the biggest deals. Let us know if you have more questions!!
