Maybe it's the INSIDE part that she means to emphasize. As in, we all are. Conservatives just don't hide it like the wussy liberals do.

And as to how we became friends: she started law school with me. i took a year off to do the MA program, and she took a year off because she became ill. So we were the only two who really "knew" each other the rest of law school (you know, the "we went through hell together" kind of friendship). She's a very vocal anti-Jew Palestinian (and, no, not anti-zionist, she's actually a hate mongerer who was originally friends with my roommate). We said hello in the hallways, etc., and she friended me because I had friended *gasp* a member of her federalist society at the law school during the period I was trying to impeach the President of our Student Bar Association (yeah, I know...I'm quite the upstart
)
Lately, she's had these HORRIBLE anti-Obama status messages, and I'm constantly posting comments correcting the crap she's spewing. Today, there were like 20+ comments to her status message (something about how she can't believe people pick on Palin when Biden is so stupid) from a various people. That was one of her responses.
