Has anyone ever had a spray tan?

If so, what did you think?

DH is going for one after work and asked if I wanted to go.

It would be nice to be on vacation and not be totally ghost-like, but with my luck I'd get some weird reaction to it or something.

Re: Has anyone ever had a spray tan?

  • You betcha!   I have done the Mystic tan a couple of times.  It turns my pale skin a nice shade of tan, not orange or overly tan.  The experience IMO, is a little scary and cold, but its over in seconds.

I have also had a customed air brush tan (for my wedding) and it was awesome!  Much less scary, but you have to be naked in front of a stranger for about 1/2 hour.

  • Yes, I love spray tanning.  I've actually only done it once but it came out great.  Not orange, very natural.
  • I did the mystic spray tan once (for my wedding). It wasn't orange, but it was a little streaky. I had weird blotches on my feet. I forgot and did dishes an hour or so after and that made weird streaks on my hands and arms.

It was not a huge mess or anything, and really only noticable to me, but it wasn't the smooth even effect I get from real tan. Going back, I would've rather just been my pale self.

  • Yes indeed!  the only time I ever had one was for my wedding.  I had a custom airbrush tan and it was fantastic!  The only weird-ish thing is, like Ang said, you're naked with someone else for about a half hour.  The girl I went to was really nice though so she made it not weird.  I'd highly recommend it.

Ang - Did you go to De La Luna too?  I loved her!

  • I've never gone but talking about it makes me think of that friends episode where Ross gets the spray tan and his face looks like leather and his back is pale...LOL

  • I've done airbrush tanning before, but not the Mystic-type ones.  I loved the airbrush.

Abba- lol! This is what we told them we did NOT want. The girls were about 12 working there, but they knew what we were talking about.

    They came out just fine.

  • Abba, After a crazy day at work, that made me laugh out loud! Nice! :)
  • I've done the Mystic and Hollywood tan...I think the Hollywood one is much less scary because you are in a open room and don't have to close the booth around you. Hollywood had a more natural look for me...the mystic one left some streaks around my hands and feet.

Load up on the cream stuff they have beforehand!
