Vibrator recommendations?

My old one broke, so I'm in the market.  I prefer external stimulation, so I'm not interested in anything like the rabbit.  Any ideas?

How powerful do you need it to be? I recently got a Lelo Nea, which is perfect for me. It's small and just powerful enough for my taste. The two buttons make it easy to increase/decrease the vibration or change the pulse setting. They sell it at the Pleasure Chest (http://www.thepleasurechest.com/lelo-nea-6607-prd1.htm), but it's often a better price on Amazon, especially if you're not picky about the color.

  • Go with a Hitachi Magic Wand.  It's what drs and sex educators always recommend.  It's durable.  Though it's a cliche, you actually CAN use it as a personal massager - what's sexier than totally relaxed muscles?  And most importantly, it is powerful. It has two speeds, and you can always dampen it with a washcloth if it's too strong, but if you buy a weak vibrator and it's not strong enough, you can't make it any stronger.

I have a hitachi magic wand, and I love, love, loved it. My DH got me hooked on it, but it was so powerful that after several months of using it I realized I could no longer have an orgasm with anything BUT the hitachi. That was really frustrating for both of us, especially since it's a bit of a hassle to travel with as it needs to be plugged in. I had to wean myself off it (which took quite a while of not having orgasms at all), and now the Nea is perfect for me. So as much as you CAN make the hitachi weaker... you might be tempted to use it at a stronger vibration than necessary, which may cause problems in the long run.

  • I really like the "Celebrator" from Athena's (you can buy online)   It looks like an electric toothbrush except it has a soft q tip shaped tip on top.  It's incredible!

  • Thanks for the recommendations.  My DH suggested the magic wand, and although the ability to use it as a regular massager is nice, I never thought about it being really strong.  The Nea is cute, so I think I might look into that one.
