If you have paragard...
...what did it feel like when you had it inserted? I really want the Paragard but I am being a chicken and I'm scared about how much its going to hurt to have it put it. What does it feel like and does it hurt more than a full-on brazilian wax?

Well, I have Paragard and I'm scared to have anything waxed anywhere, so there ya go.
It wasn't bad. It's supposedly easier if you've had kids, but I haven't, and it was OK. I took a couple Advil that morning so dull any pain, and it was over in just a few seconds - like a really bad period cramp for several seconds, and some cramping the rest of the day. I drove myself home no prob.
You'll hear horror stories about the pain, sure, but even the worst stories I've heard have almost always been followed by "it's totally worth it and I'd do it again."
It feels alot like someone poking your cervix and uterus. It's not comfortable, or fun, or a procedure I would elect to do for fun...but totally worth it. I didn't take pain meds before (which was stupid). The pain was sharp and intense, and over within 5 minutes. I had slightly more than typical period cramping for the rest of the day and by the next day I was fine.
DH drove me though, I was a little lightheaded for a couple hours afterwards. But seriously, 1 day of not feeling great for 10 years of no babies is a pretty fair trade.
I'm also too scared to wax!!!
I didn't feel a lot, but my doctor gave a local. There was a strong cramp when it went in, and that's it. Brazilian hurt a LOT more for a much longer time, LOL.
The only thing that I felt was when the NP measured my uterus. It was a bad cramp and I wasn't prepared for that. I have had 2 kids so my experience is a bit different then the others.
Oh and I was perfectly fine to drive myself home.

I can tell you this much. The cramps I get every month when I have my period are worse than the insertion was. Yeah, down side to Paragard, bad cramp (I've had mine for a yr and half now and still have bad cramps) and heavy bleeding on days 2 and 3 of my period. Day 1 I don't need a tampon,day 4 just the little ones and day 5 it's over in the morning.

It hurt. To me it felt like a sharp pain, but only for a few seconds (10? 20? not long).
I had DH with me holding my hand. It was nice to have someone to focus on for those few seconds other than focusing on the pain.
After insertion, it didn't hurt at all. I didn't have any cramping or anything. I could have driven myself home.
It hurt WAY less than a brazilian wax imo.
