DH and I are looking into moving to Charlotte, the only thing we know about it is the TWColiseum. Is there a nice area, good area, a OMG you wouldn't drive by area? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Looking Into Charlotte
We moved to Charlotte about a year and half ago and live in Ballantyne(South Charlotte). It is a beautiful area - lots of shopping, golf, country clubs etc. Definetly look into it.
Another great area is South Park - older, a great mall with high end retailers and lots of upscale restaurants.. I'd stay away from West Charlotte. Uptown is ok but there are def areas to stay away from at night.
It really depends on what you are looking for - city or suburbs? I know we looked at the crime stats online before moving and they can be a bit overwhelming but I think those numbers come from concentrated areas and we have steered clear of them.
Happy searching!
first, find out where your new jobs will be located.
i live in the Ballantyne area as well and really like it. we have friends in Steele Creek/Arsley and Huntersville and those are nice areas as well. i really like Matthews too.
Being that she's from DC, I'm betting Charlotte Traffic isn't that bad in comparison.
Figure out where you're going to work first, then look into where you want to live based on that. Also, take into consideration schools if you have kids.
SpeedGlenn, you are so right. After driving 495 and 270 and 395, I am ready for anything lolol I will know by the summer so we can approach it that way. Thanks
