Wasted trip
Ugh, just ugh.
We got to court an hour early Friday. At promptly 1:30 pm, Redneck's ex's lawyer walks in...
and tells us she's in DC on a trip with stepson.
Excuse me? The lawyer says he, um, forgot to tell her about court until 2 weeks ago, and didn't have time to file a continuance and no way to get hold of us.
A) Our current address and phone number are on all court documents.
Emails to/from ex have been submitted as evidence, so he had our email address
C) If all else fails, look up "John Deere" in Goodland, Kansas. There's only one dealer.
So I was seriously pissed. The judge ordered her attorney to reimburse him for 1 1/2 days of work and mileage. This is where I almost kicked my husband. The judge said "What do you want to be reimbursed for mileage? I get 25 cents per mile." My darling husband says "Well, I'm not a judge, so how about 15?" I know the words "Are you f'ing stupid?" came out of my mouth at that point. He got 25 cents a mile.
And the highlight of the trip - my normally completely sweet, wonderful MIL jumped my @ss because I asked Carri to pick up her ipod, said I was no different than his other wives, and it's no wonder his kids don't want to visit if I'm such a b!tch. Yeah, don't know where that came from, and Redneck sat there and didn't say a word. I swear I'm going to be single again.

I'm almost afraid to send him on his own because he's so damn naive sometimes. I guess I'll figure something out.
That sucks!! I can't believe neither you or the court were notified of her not showing in advance. And I think I would have slapped Redneck in the back of the head when he said $0.25 for mileage...wtf?! He should have asked for at least $0.50, that's what I get at work now.
Hopefully this is all settled on the 9th!
