DH and I are renovating our kitchen. We have this little cut out in the wall above our sink. We want to put some kind of ledge on it, but not sure what to do. We dont really want to spend a lot of money on granite. My DH was thinking about doing a wood ledge, but can't figure out a creative way to do it without it looking cheap.
This will not be used as a bar, since our hallway is not big enough for bar stool. It does need to be sturdy enough to hold a little things like a candle, vase, or candy dishes.
Do you ladies have any ideas???

Re: Need some kitchen help
Do you have a place you can get 'scraps' from if that makes sense?
Often times builders cut from large pcs of stone and have the leftovers for sale at stone stores for dirt cheap at a fraction of the cost.
Otherwise, I'd consider tiling it.
I will have to do some investigating to find out where some local stone stores are.
Thanks for the tip!
