Bridal Shower Favors

I'm throwing a bridal shower for a good friend of mine in May. Although I've attended about 100 bridal showers, this is my first time being in charge of planning one. I've got the menu, games, invites, etc. pretty much wrapped up (I'm a big planner, I get things done early). The only thing I'm a little stuck on is favors. I want something kind of unique and different. All I can find online are the stuff you see at every shower or wedding. The wedding takes place in July and the colors are red and black, but I hadn't really decided on colors/theme for the shower (haven't planned out decorations yet). There will probably be about 15 people at the shower. I would like to make truffles or cookies myself and then add a little something else to the total favor package.

Have you seen any bridal shower favors that you thought were especially cute or unique?

Re: Bridal Shower Favors

  • Do you know where they are going on their honeymoon?  The girls at my shower did a luau themed b/c we went on a cruise.  They gave out margarita glasses and individual packages of margarita mix with Lauren's Bridal Shower printed on them and then tied them together with cellophane with a black and white bow (our colors).  I thot they were cute!

  • Are these for everyone or just for people who win games?  B/c that would determine how much money I spend!  I went to one where the game winners got plastic cocktail shakers from a dollar store.  Sometimes the dollar stores actually do have cute things.  Yankee Candle has (or just had) all of their votives & tartes on sale for $1.  You could wrap one or two in tulle & tie with some ribbon.  I had Lindor truffles in little Chinese takeout boxes for wedding favors.  I stalked TJMaxx to find the truffles on sale & ordered the boxes on line.  GFS has slightly larger boxes in their stores.

  • I don't have any suggestions, but this blog has some awesome shower theme ideas and decorations.

  • At my shower the favors were flower seed packets.  They were wrapped nicely with a thank you note and a quote that I can't remember.  They were a big hit.

The last shower I was at had cookie favors in the shape of a wedding cake with the bride and groom's initials.  There were super cute.

I think just truffels or cookies would be fine.

  • I just threw a bridal shower and the favors were antibacterial soaps from Bath and Body works. The one's you'd put in your kitchen/bathroom. I got all different types of scents, then wrapped a bow around it with a heart that said the bride and grooms name and their wedding date using their wedding colors. They turned out great and everyone seemed to like them. Who can't use some soap right? :) Esp with summer coming.
