Yard/Landscaping ?'s

DH and I have been working hard in the yard. Redoing borders, beds, etc. Im looking for ideas to help with our backyard... its a very blank slate that we can revamp, DIY style.

Does anyone have any wordsof wisdom for any of the following:

landscaping blogs for ideas ?

also looking for inexpensive suppliers (rock/dirt etc) non homedepot/lowes.

TIA!

btw if you want to see pics of what we have been doing they are posted on our blog, link in sig.

Re: Yard/Landscaping ?'s

  • This is great...we are doing the same. We have been referencing books and mags. We got some ideas from just driving around the neighborhood and checking out other yards too.=) I would love to find out about the rocks and dirt ideas too! We need a good *** of fill dirt to level out the side of our house. Also...where is the best place to get an aerator? Or how much is this for someone to do?

  • From Duck:

"For the aerator:  heart of texas rentals

As for the dirt, how much dirt would determine where to go to get it and as far as dirt and rock, there really isn't a cheap place, you really get what you pay for, especially on dirt.

i would use Daniel Stone or Bedrock Stone, for rock and Organics By Gosh for Soil and some gravel."

     Hope that helps!
