Looking for a day-of wedding coordinator

Hello, ladies-

This may be a long shot, but I thought one of you may be interested or may know someone interested in serving as my day-of wedding coordinator.

I am a very organized bride planning a September wedding in the Chapel Hill area. While I am handling all the details about the big day, as many of you know, it will be impossible for me to be there to handle things on the day itself. That's where I am looking for some help.

I need someone to hand checks to my vendors, help keep us on time as far as toasting, cutting the cake, etc., put out any fires and, generally, just make sure that everything runs smoothly. It occurred to me that a recent bride might be good at this. You don't have to be a professional wedding coordinator-- just a person who has been in my shoes and knows what will be expected of her.

It has been suggested to me that I ask a friend. But I want my friends to have fun at my wedding-- not work! So I am seeking some outside help.

My budget is about $300, and I would ask the person to be present at our rehearsal for about two hours, and then available pretty much all day on the wedding day.

Thanks in advance!

Andrea

Re: Looking for a day-of wedding coordinator

  • Your best bet may be to find a wedding coordinator just starting out because in this area, it will be difficult to find anyone to do what you want for $300.

I used a day-of coordinator when I got married 3/06, and I paid $750 for her to do exactly what you are describing.  I totally understand where you're coming from re. budgetary restraints, but if you want things to go as smoothly as possible, you might be better off paying a bit more for someone who has more experience.

    good luck!

  • I used Nancy Congleton, and her business is called the Wedding Runner. She was very reasonably priced and did an awesome, awesome job.

I got a quote from her but ultimately went with Cori Stocum of Stocum consulting. At the time I talked to the "wedding runner" this was her second job and I didn't like the fact we had to work within the hours that she wasn't at her job. Also, I wasn't going to be the only bride that day she was helping, so that was a big red flag for me, she may have changed her set up now though.

Cori was AWESOME!! I also got married in Chapel Hill and she was so good, maybe a bit more pricey than what you are looking for but she should be willing to work with you.

ETA: I may have another option for you if you are interested. I don't want to put the info on the board. You can email me at:
