Re: AW: My weekend project

I could only see the last pic (no idea why) but it looks great! Congrats on mastering the miter saw!
My weekend project was spending 4 hours assembling a pre-fab crafts table. But I am excited to use it! (and proud that I built it with minimal help from DH.) Yours is way more impressive though.

I actually think most of the pre-fab stuff I have put together was HARDER than this project. I'm not kidding!
Thanks! Total materials came out to about $80 for all the wood, nails, wood glue, and hooks (which we found in the clearance bin at Target). I totally suggest you try it out, it honestly wasn't that hard!
That turned out great! Nice work!
You're pretty much correct, it was mostly lots of measuring, cutting, and then nailing into place. I used a nail gun which made the whole thing go really fast. I added wood glue before each section too, just so that it had extra strength. The only hard part was the cutout on the bench and the curves on the shelf. Those had to be done free hand with a jigsaw so I made my DH do that!
make that i am NOW following...
He did a great job with the jigsaw. The cuts look really even and not at all amateurish.
You did an amazing job! Did you use a plan or did you just look at the picture and do your own measurements and stuff?

It looks amazing!! You're so talented. I love redecorating but I could never tackle something like that.
I hadn't seen your blog before, so I started reading it - I love the 3 different kinds of cabinets in the kitchen
.
We used the plans from Knock Off Wood and then just changed the measurements to fit our space.
Ugh, those cabinets were awful! We actually just finished redoing the kitchen ourselves too and I'm going to do a blog post about that later this week.
