No motivation

I feel completely unmotivated lately.

I finally had my self back to working out at least three times weekly in January/February, but then I got sick.  I had a flu/cold one week in Feb, and then the next week I got Norwalk virus so that put me out for a good week or so.  I am finally feeling back to 100%, but I can't find the push to work out like I had before.

Another thing is that I have to update my resume and write a cover letter for this job I will be applying to in April.  I also wanted to have a unit planned and ready to show at the interview, but I cannot bring myself to put it all together.  I thought over March Break I would get it all done, but nope I procrastinated :(

What do you do to find motivation to do things you don't really love to do?

Re: No motivation

  • Usually DH helps me with that... But I will confess... I haven't ran in a couple weeks (not completely my fault, I'm currently injured) and I haven't picked up my school work either (hopefully tonight).  DH is good at motivating me without putting too much additonal stress on me.  So, I don't have any self motivating tips.

Arg... and the resume... I have to get working on mine as well, I've supposed to have been since October.  I tend to have faith that it'll all work out and I won't need to apply for anything else (internal or external) as this transitions winds up.

  • For working out, I just remind myself that it will feel much better after I go - it's an awesome stress reliever.
  • Is it horrible that I have no motivation to think of an answer and reply?
  • For motivation in regards to working out:

    - Watching a show like Last Ten Pounds, Biggest Loser, etc

    - Reading fitness blogs

    - Looking at pictures of myself 45lbs heavier. That always works.

For the other stuff I am at a loss.

  • AW - I actually managed to pick up my school books last night, with no help from DH.  I even had to kick him out of the spare bedroom where he was doing his exercises so I could get some school work done.

  • Thanks for the tips.  DH usually is good at getting my butt in gear, but sometimes he's too good that it gets annoying :P

I looked at my resume this morning and started fixing it up, so yay!

But I also procrastinated on the resume and exercising last night by starting to pack for our move.  Even though I still have a little less than two months to do that.
