I got a recipe for a baby's first birthday cake, it's no sugar/eggs, etc. It calls for baking it at 325 for an hour and a half. Well, I tried to bake it in the Wilton giant cupcake pan and it was NOT done after an hour and a half. I probably baked it another half an hour or more than that. I don't think it baked any more in the middle and just made the outside chewy and inedible. I don't know what to do!
Re: help needed - baking!
I posted pics on my FB account of Lil Miss's cake. We let her go at it for about a half hour and you can see how much she ate. She did not get sick and did take a somewhat regular nap afterwards. It was regular store bought frosting and regular white cake mix following the regular instructions. I did only bake the top since I did the molded candy liner, and just used a trimmed 8" round for the bottom of the cupcake. If it is just going to be Gavin's smash cake, I would recommend going this route because its FAST & EASY and you'll have plenty of other things to do.
HTH!
can you email me step by step instructions? lol
omigosh izzy's cake turned out so cute. i'm just worried cause g hasn't had eggs yet.
I'll find the links and email you everything. It was really simple.
And the eggs thing --- I had the same concern & a really funny convo with another mom about the same thing, so I 'cheated' and gave Lil Miss eggs two weeks early. SHHHhh don't tell on me.
Yes, hard boiled was first. Mainly because I making them anyhow for a salad, so I made one for her too.
If Gavin likes them, HB eggs are easy to send along for lunch, so this could be a win-win.
