Made a big decision yesterday

I made my appointment to get a Mirena IUD - April 16th!!  DH and I had a consultation with my doc about our options a few months ago and we finally made the appointment.

My insurance (CDPHP) does not cover any portion of it, but it is worth it in the long run.

Woot!

Re: Made a big decision yesterday

  • That is a big decision and I'm glad you guys were able to make it!  Congrats!

Let me know how it goes...I'm considering an IUD after LO is born.  But I will have to check my insurance, too.

  • Good for you! Good luck!

  • I know of some other women that have had that done on this board and from their experience I was told that the cramping doesn't last for more than a couple of days and then they were fine.

     Good luck with everything!

  • I bet it feels good to have that decision finally made!

  • Good to hear you made a decision - I love that feeling of finally deciding when it's something that's been weighing on you as a big decision! Good luck!
  • I had mine put in when I was 23 or 24... just KNEW we wouldn't be ready for a kid for a LONG time. I have a paraguard and the $900 I paid OUT OF POCKET was worth every penny.  Cramping was so f^cking awful when they put it in but in 15 minutes I was up and out of the drs office.  Your flow might get disgustingly heavy, but that's the only draw back. I puffy heart my IUD!
