I found
spokeo.com on the Money Matters board...it's hilarious! It has me listed twice (one at my current residence and one at my parent's). It says I'm African-American. That's how I'll mark the census

Re: Ha!
First of all, I don't like the idea of this website.
Second, I'm glad I didn't find myself.
Third, I"m THRILLED that my husband's search yielded the following information:
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Me too

OMG my mom is on there and it's mostly correct. It's got her old address and maiden name though. But it's even got her old cell phone number.
That's freaky.
I am on there under my maiden name and at my old address...
As with Karen, it says DH's residence is $600-800k. That can't be right...
YIkes, that is pretty creepy.
I am there under my maiden name- has my parent's street address, but in the wrong town. It also says their home is worth $1 million + (not true), that I'm a Leo (not true), and my hobbies include collecting (I'm not sure where they even got that). It also claims their house was built in 1900 and doesn't have heat. Very strange...
There are 366 of people with my married name.
Don't argue! Run with it!
Even if it were true (any of it), whose business is that besides your own? I mean, why would anyone need to know whether or not you live in a house that has heat or not? That's my big problem with websites like these.
I'm glad you have heat, by the way.
Hahaha. If that were the case, let's sell that b!tch!
This is really scary. it is under my maiden name but still - I live in a city where google has photo mapped so there is a picture of my actual house on it.
But then again it says that I live in a "below average neighborhood" with a house value of 1Mil+ That cracks me up. hehe, my 800 square foot remodel is 1mil huh?
LoL! Congrats!
Interesting. I am named after my grandmother, and they have that she is me (mid-20s, college degree, etc.)...and apparently I'm married to my grandfather...and we have no children.
I am in there for our current residence. Apparently I have children, am single, and don't have central air (Lie! We totally do).
I don't exist as a married woman, though.

My Blog!
Wowzers....it says I am a social worker (i've already been a social worker) and I live in a million dollar home.....how does that work????
It actually found me--as the first one with my name in my state. It is correct on my age, race, gender, and the length of time I've lived in my house, and even has a picture of my house. It is at least close on when the house was built. It has figured out that I'm married, but still says there is only one person in my household. Umm, how does that work? It knows I have a fireplace, but isn't sure whether I have central heating, air conditioning, or a swimming pool. Nor can it figure out the value of my house. It says I'm interested in shopping, and not interested in politics, although in fact it's the opposite. And it says I'm a Capricorn, which I'm not. And it says I have no kids, which will undoubtedly be a surprise to my son and daughter.
In addition, it says NotFroofy is single, and in a one-person household, but lives at my house. If I'm also in a one-person household, just how does that work? It says she has only been here for 6 years. (I guess I hid her in the attic for the first three years?) And it's not sure if she also has a fireplace. It does, however, have her astrological sign correct.

So...you can remove yourself from the "database" by clicking on the privacy link on the bottom of the homepage. I just did that for myself (and my grandma) so...fingers crossed.
The whole "photo of my home" thing is creepy. I know that people can find that stuff anyway (and luckily I live in a condo right now so you only find my building) but still! Google is creeping me out with all of their mapping/imaging stuff!
