I miss my nest time!!!

Collin has been so fussy lately and wants nothing to do with Kevin a lot of the time which makes it really rough for me to not get a break.

Kevin feels like Collin hates him which I know isn't true obviously it's just that when Collin is crying Kevin gets  bit tense which C notices. I know it's hard for both of them but hopefully we'll work through it..

But anyways C has been screaming when he eats and we couldn't figure out what was wrong well we tried different formulas and different water and now different bottles. He would just be laying by me or in his swing an randomly start screaming in pain I felt so helpless and didn't know what that problem was. So now we're on Soy formula and it's gotten worst. After last night of him screaming for 2 hrs at 3am I couldn't take it anymore so I scheduled an d Dr's Appt for 10am tomorrow

but in the mean time today I took 2 hrs and did some research and I'm not sure why I didn't think about it before but it seems like from what I found out is he has Silent Reflux where he's not spiting up but it's coming half way up his espougas(SP?) and then going back down which leaves a burning sensation in his stomach. Plus when he's sleeping at night the Acid would be getting stuck in his stomach from laying on his back and giving him gas pains this all makes so much sense to me. I'm praying that's what it is be I don't know what else to do. I'm running on barely any sleep well I was at least my MIL took C all weekend so we could get some sleep thank god!! But I really just want him to not be in pain anymore. I'll update you all tomorrow but if any other mommies have dealt with something like this I would appreciate any advise...

Re: I miss my nest time!!!

  • Poor Collin and parents. I hope you get some answers tomorrow!
  • Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this! My friends son had reflux and he had to be sitting up all the time, she ended up holding him constantly. He is fine now, but I know it was such an ordeal for them at the time. Good luck, let us know what the Dr says!
  • aww poor Collin! and poor you guys! I hope the doctor gets it all figured out and Collin returns to his normal happy self :)

Aw, I hope you figured it out so at least you know how to make it better!  And I hope you get more sleep soon.
  • Hey Amanda! Not sure that you'll see this in time before your appointment, but I think the most important thing is to write down/note, if you can, any patterns in Collin's behavior. From what I've read about reflux in babies, the diagnosis is mostly based on the mother's report. Good luck, keep us updated! I hope Collin (and you!) get some relief.

This is very good advice. B did not have reflux, but there are tons of girls whose babies had it when I was on 0-6.  Maybe the doc will prescribe something?  Hope C feels better soon!  And you can get some sleep!
