One more bacon thing

I don't get to Nest very often but I saw all the love for bacon below and just had to share this. For MH's friend's 40th, we got him an assortment of chocolate and (if this shows up right) here's a picture of one of the bars we bought for him - Vosages chocolate bacon bar. Didn't think to buy an extra to try - but the box described it as savory and sweet. Comes in milk and dark chocolate. Anyone bacon lovers taste this yet?

I haven't tried or heard of this fabulous creation! I'm wondering how good it would taste mixed with chocolate though...maybe MH my get some more bacon items for Christmas this year

I had chocolate covered bacon for the first time recently - it was...eh. strips of bacon, dipped in chocolate. It kind of surprised me by tasting exactly like - bacon and chocolate. haha. i think i was expecting some out of this world 1+1 = 3 thing, but really, it was just bacon and chocolate. though, i did feel the bacon was WAY too cooked - almost leathery. i think it would have been better if it was crispy instead...so if i see it again somewhere, i'd probably try it again Smile

the vosges bacon bars are available at our whole foods, so i may try that some day.

One of my co-workers made some chocolate covered bacon for us and it was delicious! He used dark chocolate which balanced perfectly with the salty crisp bacon. I guess the trick was to fry the bacon super crispy and have a thick layer of chocolate. It was divine. I would definitely eat it again.

Ooooh I've heard of this but haven't tried it! I'm thinking it would be delish. Smile

I have done bacon brownies, which were very yummy and surprisingly subtle (you didn't bite into them and go "whoa! bacon!" - it was more of a nice contrast with this salty crunchiness and it took you a second to work out what the extra ingredient was).

I bought that for my brother at Whole Foods for Christmas two years ago... I thought it was kinda disappointing. I guess I was expecting a more bacon-y crunch.
