Questions about 30 day shred

So i feel like i am finally self motivated to lose this weight. I have heard of the 30 day shred, but i want to know the basics: is it long, is it fun, is it too hard for someone that usually just walks, is it something that you did a couple of times and gave up or is it interesting enough to keep you interwested, and most important has it worked? Oh and is it just a dvd and is it expensive or just a regular priced dvd? I guess i am making sure i am not wasting my money like i so often do with these dvds. TIA!

Re: Questions about 30 day shred

  • It will kick your ass. ;)

It is a fairly cheap DVD. I'd say about 12 bucks tops.

The workout is billed as 20 minutes, but it's more like 30.  There are three different levels. The premise is that you do each level for 10 days.

Type it into youtube and it will give you some short clips of the DVD.

IMO, a great workout.  I have it and have done it....but not in a long time. ;)

  • I haven't done it in a while either, but I love it. You definitely can tell a difference in your stamina after a few days. A great workout, in less than 30 (27 min). It will hurt the first few days, but keep doing it, you'll get past it. That's probably the hardest thing - making yourself do it the 2nd day!

    But it's so worth it.

  • Definitely a kick your ass kinda workout. And in only 27 minutes. But it is a good workout. I like it. After I finished my 30 days I continued to do it a couple times a week at level 3 and that's my workout routine. I have definite definition and my stamina is way up. I will say this, I wasn't doing it to lose weight I just wanted to tone up my un-toned-post-winter-body (and I was successful) and I have lost a couple pounds, but it says you can lose up to 20 lbs in a month but I think that's only if you combine that workout with a diet which I did not do so I can't attest to. It's a fun workout but it's definitely a workout.

  • It's a great workout overall.  I almost finished the 30 day challenge, but vacation kind of killed it.  I had paired it with running three times a week (Couch to 5K program), but I didn't lose any weight.  I was kind of watching what I ate, but not super strictly so that may have had something to do with it.

What's great about it is the flexibility.  You can do one level every day or you can do two levels back to back.  I did that for a while and also bought her Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism which is a 40-45 minute workout.  I'm doing P90X at the moment, so I probably won't return to my Jillian Michaels DVD until I'm finished with Round 1 of that.
