OMFG - I'm officially "special"
so, I'm at the airport - my flight was supposed to leave at 945 out of gate 9. I checked the board when I was in line for security and see the flight has been delayed to 11am. still out of gate 9. I get out my laptop, putz around on the compy, and see gate 9 is now showing salt lake city. ETA: I'm not going to SLC. I go to the desk and was informed my flight already left. I now have to wait for the 1pm flight.
if anyone finds my brain, please let me know. I'm thinking it's somewhere along 183 when I left this morning at 7am.
I told my boss my flight was canceled.

Re: OMFG - I'm officially "special"
Ha! I love it. I totally would have told my boss that, too.
I did that once in college at the Student Health Center. Got there a couple hours early for some reason, started reading, read straight through my appoinment. Oopsie.
I just feel like a dumbass more than anything...
I totally know how you feel!!! My husband and I were going to Colorado a couple of years ago, we get to the airport about 2 hrs early and decide to get a drink at the bar before we go to the gate to sit and wait (we had a bad day the day before!) our flight was scheduled to leave at 2:30 so when we get to the gate there's NO ONE there. We were told by the airline person (who was SUPER rude!) that our names were called, we were seriously accross from the gate and maybe one gate down! We never heard anything.
He's like let me guess you two were at the bar...kids, and rolled his eyes at us! At that time another airline person (what do you call them?) told us we could get on a delayed flight. Then the rude guy said yeah you're lucky...
I was livid, and started to pop off to him, but Carlos gave me that "look" and i had to pipe down before airline security put me in that little box thing. I think i even told him he needed a prozak or something LOL. Jerk!
So we went back to the bar...i needed another margarita! OH whats worse is we could still see our plane, it hadnt even left yet! They had just stopped boarding...it was still hooked up to that little tunnel thing.
This story sounds similar to the time I almost went to St. Louis instead of returning home to Austin by surprise. Luckily, the person scanning my boarding pass stopped me from actually getting on the plane.
I decided to blame the airlines for my. . .umm. . .misinterpretation of the departures board.

Yeah- airports and insane and very few people are nice. I hope it wasn't too much out of pocket to get you there.
I've definitely had my "incidents" as well.
