So, I am thinking Libby is definitely favoring my Amazonian proportions...she'll be 2 months old on Thursday and is measuring 23 inches and about 16 lbs.! She was 8 lbs, 4 oz and 19.75 inches so she's nearly doubled her birthweight in 2 months (the average baby doubles in four months).
I am not too concerned as my niece (twin brother's daughter) was similar...by 5 months old she was wearing 12m clothing. She's 7 now and 4'11" and wears size 12 girls clothing. I was the same way when I was a kid. It sort of breaks my heart in a way though since I remember how horrible it was to go clothes shopping as a girl...it wasn't until high school when I discovered men's 501 jeans that I was remotely happy with my clothing options.
Anyway, here's the poll:
1) Baby's weight and length at birth
2) Baby's weight and length now (or as close to now as possible). Also, how old is your baby?
3) Breastfed, formula fed or both?
4) Your height and your DH's height
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not?
Re: BR Poll: How big is your LO?
Wow! Libby is already bigger than Alexa! But then Alexa is very small for her age... So they are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Babies tend to balance out eventually. Don't worry, momma! She is beautiful. :-)

Why or why not?Yes. I talked to the Dr about her size, afraid that she was too small but they told us that she is fine, considering our size. Her 6 month measurements are in the 25th percentile for both height and weight.Malia & Dave & Alexa

Baby Blog
1) Baby's weight and length at birth
9lb 1 oz, they measured him at 20"
**after watching the video we took of him getting measured and weighed I see that they didn't really attempt to manhandle him enough to uncurl him to get a really accurate measurement. 2 weeks later nurse at the peds office measured him at 22.5"
2) Baby's weight and length now (or as close to now as possible). Also, how old is your baby? Before his bath on Sunday I weighed him (weighed us both and then subtracted my weight) and he was 11.5lb, not sure on the length. He doesn't go back to the ped until mid-April.
3) Breastfed, formula fed or both? Breastfed
4) Your height and your DH's height I'm 5'8" and DH is 6'2"
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not? He takes after his dad's side I guess. DH and his sisters were all big babies and big kids (not the healthiest of eaters though...). I was a small baby (6lb 8oz at birth) and on the smaller side as a kid. I never really got taller than average until late middle school and while I am "big boned" (really) I was still on the slender side of that spectrum until mid law school. My sister is the same way (never really tall until HS, but she is and always has been very skinny) It will be interesting to see how Jack does since he appears to be big (90%+ percentiles in everything) but we eat a lot better than DH's family.
2) Baby's weight and length now (or as close to now as possible). Also, how old is your baby? 4 feet 8.75 inches, he is 11yrs 4.2 mos
3) Breastfed, formula fed or both? Formula, he was allergic to breast milk
4) Your height and your DH's height I am 5' 6", my baby's daddy is 6' 4", DH is 6' 2"
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not? As far as his very lean, all muscle mass body goes, he is inline with his father's family genetics. Hoping he starts having some growth spurts as his height seems to be inline with my paternal grandparents (my dad and his brothers are all over 6 feet, but my grandparents are not even 5 feet tall!).
1) Baby's weight and length at birth 8 lbs, 6 oz / 19.75 inches
2) Baby's weight and length now (or as close to now as possible). Also, how old is your baby? One month ago she was 23.5 lbs and 29 inches. Of course she was sick then too, so she had lost a bit of weight. She has always been off the charts for weight until 9 months-- now she is in the 95 percentile for both height and weight (so she's tapering off in other words)
3) Breastfed, formula fed or both? BF till 5 months then introduced solids
4) Your height and your DH's height I'm 5'2", DH is around 5'9"
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not? It's too early to tell. I am relatively small, DH is not a big guy either. But she's only 10 months! The pedi. said to wait until 2 years when we can get a more accurate estimate of her height and whatnot.

I'm 5'1"-ish (prob more like 5'1/2") & he's 5'10"
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not?
She was big at birth (which runs in the family on my dad's side) but I think she's going to be on the small size. She's not gaining very rapidly but the pedi thinks she's just going to be petite like me. So although she's around the 50th percentile for wt & length now, I'm thinking she's going to end up towards the 25th percentile. I was pretty small - 6 lbs 2 oz at birth and only 21 lbs at 1 year.

yeah, the pedi said she is growing about what we expect her to right now. she's not going to be as short as me but she probably won't be super tall either

My Food Blog - Good Eats 'n Sweet Treats
1) Birth - 7 lbs 12 oz, 21 inches
2) Now - At his 1 month visit, he was 10 lb 8 oz, and I don't remember how long. I'm guessing he's about 12 lb now, but maybe bigger. His 2 mo check is next week.
3) Breastfed
4) My height is 5' 2" and my DH's height is 6' 4"
5) Do you think your baby's size is inline with your family genetics? Why or why not? - I'm not really sure. DH continued to gain height into early college, so we've got a long way to go. Both DH and my brother are taller than both of their parents. Hopefully he'll be closer to DH than me!
My LO is big now. I can give you a birth until 8 years old summary.
1) 7 11, 21"
2) At 8 years and 4 months she weights 62.5 pounds. I need to measure to get her height of the day. Estimate ~ 4' 3"
3) BF exclusively 12 weeks on maternity leave. Worked in a bottle of formula once a day after that. I don't remember exactly when we added cereal and mushy baby food... pretty late.
4) I'm 5'7". Her dad is 5'10" (and a half if his 'fro is fluffy)
5) Yes. I did those fun calculators that say how tall your baby will be. I've done it since she was a wee babe through now. They predict 5'6" - 5'7". My mom is 5'6" and I'm 5'7". She is charting the same as I did.
*Bonus* When she was a baby, everyone commented how big she was. She had cute baby rolls. Once she had the ability to crawl, the baby chub lessened. When she learned to toddle-run every waking minute, she leaned out. Now, she is long and lanky. What I noticed in the early years, she would go in cycles. She had to BF every couple of hours to satisfy her appetite. At the point that I thought, this is too much, I should ask the dr if this is normal, she would have a growth spurt. They stock up for their growing needs.
