My organization is hosting an event next month. It's a scrapbooking event, and we really need to up attendance to it. I don't scrapbook and I don't know anyone who does. I'm sending an intern out to flyer the town, but my boss thinks people who scrapbook don't look at flyers.
It's a little frustrating for me
So...do you scrapbook? Do you look at flyers in coffee shops, community boards, etc? Where do you think scrapbookers hide?
Re: Shameless work question
my best guess/suggestion would be to check with Hobby Lobby/Michael's Crafts, and places like that and ask if you could leave flyers with them/ on their checkout stations, etc-might as well start @ the source right???
When next month is the event? I haven't scrapbooked since we moved to SC, but I need to get back into it. :-)
I like scrapbooking, but I'm not nearly as hardcore as some other people I've met that are into it. I like MrsD's idea of Hobby Lobby and Michaels. Also, you could make an event on fb for it and invite people you know from the area. I don't think scrapbooking is like other hobbies where people come together to do it (at least it's not for me). I mean I've heard of scrapbooking parties, but I think that's more like Home Interior or something where it's a party to sell stuff.
Anyway, yes when I go out to coffee shops or places I look at posted fliers. I don't read the stacks of crap thrown on the table though.
When's the event and what's it entail? If I'm free, I can try to make it.
There is a group of scrapbookers that I know through church. One of them is also a breast cancer survivor. I don't know if they look at fliers but if you can send me something digital I can get the information to all of them.
It's 2 ladies in our group, then the sisters of one of the ladies. They go on scrapbooking retreats and such.
Edit: NM I found it http://www.komenscmm.org/get-involved/komen-activities/crop-for-the-cure.html
I will send the link on and see if they know of good ways to promote it and if they can send it on also.
Thanks MrsZ!
I had a very ridiculous conversation with my boss this morning about flyers. I was more than a little frustrated with it
I sent the intern to coffee shops/Michaels/Hobby Lobby/ice cream places/libraries/grocery stores. Next up are churches and YMCAs. Even if no one looks at the flyers, at least they're not sitting on my desk anymore!
The event itself has a lot of Creative Memories consultants who are involved, so they usually invite their clients. It's not free--there's a $15 registration fee (but you can consider it a donation! to a good cause!). I'm a little nervous...not many people have signed up so far, but we've also had one delay after another in getting the word out. It'll come together!
