Well... it's been over a week and we haven't heard anything.
I knew not to get my hopes up - for some reason nobody wants to talk to either of us because we don't currently live out there. My dad told me that the bank he interviewed with wants to interview him for a position here... but the whole point of the job there is because we don't want to live here anymore.
I'm getting discouraged.
Re: DH's interview F/U
Yes, it is extremely difficult to get a job somewhere when you don't live there. I went through it a few years ago when I moved to where I reside now.....are you using an address near where you are seeking employment or your address where you currently live on your resume/applications? I found that to be the biggest obstacle & once I changed my address on my resume/application the calls/e-mails started flowing in (again though, that was a few years ago when the economy/unemployment were not nearly as bad).
GL & don't get discouraged, keep your head up high!!
I'm sorry your having so much trouble.
I agree with Annie, is there an address you can use in the city you want to move for job hunting until you get there. When we were moving Aaron had such a difficult time getting interviews until we actually moved out here and got our address setup.
Good luck!!
Thanks girls! We still have a house out there, my little brother is living there now. We have thought about using that address on a resume, but my big fear would be for someone to call to schedule an interview - and then have to be like "well, i work a lot of hours so i can only come over the weekend..." - I just don't want to seem shady.
Although at this point that is probably the least of my worries... maybe we should just do it and see what happens...
Thanks for the advice ladies :-) I'm feeling better!
