Anyone or their DH ride new CapMetro Rail?
I love the idea of public transportation, but just curious as to who might use the new rail line from Cedar Park to downtown. I live in an area where it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to use. Have you or your DH taken it or plan to? How was it?
Re: Anyone or their DH ride new CapMetro Rail?
i live in cedar park and would love to use the rail, but i don't need to for work. when i need it is on the weekends or later at night. i would go downtown a lot more if there was weekend service or late at night service. maybe in the future!
eta: dh is thinking about going back to school, and depending on his class schedule, it would be nice for him to park n' ride up in leander. there's a connecting bus from the MLK station to UT, so it'd be convienent. plus, i read on the capmetro website that UT students ride free with an ID.
I want to, but since to get there and back I'd have to spend the day downtown it's not practical for us.
I'm hoping they'll extend hours and be open on the weekends too.
I don't know all the specifics, but I think the local controversy is the (considerable) additional time + money the project took to be completed than originally projected.
According to the news reports I've seen, the rail seems pretty popular for these first few days--up to 250 people per car on some trips!
