S/O Digital Photo Books

I came across this site today:

http://www.mixbook.com

I love it!  I'm using it to make a Pregnancy Album...what I like about it is that it has fully customizable templates...just like traditional scrapbooking with "stickers", embellishments, etc.  The pricing is really great too.  I'll let you know what I think once it's printed.  Check it out!

Re: S/O Digital Photo Books

  • Ooooh that looks like a good site! Definitely let me know what you think once you get a printed copy. Smile
  • ooooh, thanks for sharing!!  i really like the scrapbook-y look, especially for baby albums.  I haven't made any more photobooks since our wedding album b/c i don't have the creativity to design my own layouts, beyond just using photos.  this looks like a great option!!

That's what I like most about this option...you can be as creative as you want (or have time for, which is the case with me)...the layouts are FULLY customizable...you can move/add text, embellishments, change fonts, colors, etc.  With the other companies I've used (Shutterfly, MyPublisher, Blurb) you're stuck with their templated layouts (you can adjust colors/fonts but not their position on the page, etc.) or have to fully create your own and upload.  MixBook seems to offer a happy medium.  You can also browse 100's of other users books and copy them for you own photos...nice!

I also love that it links to other online photo albums at Facebook, Photobucket, Flickr, SmugMug, Yahoo, and Picasa so you don't have to upload things twice, etc.  You can also upload directly to that site.  And you can collaborate on deisgning books with other users, which I think would be awesome for families/couples, etc.

  • cool, can't wait to read your review afterwards
