Complain...

So I'm just now getting around to Nesting- flew to Atlanta on Thursday, drove to Chattanooga and back on Friday, had my bridal shower on Saturday, drove all over Atlanta on Sunday, and had my final appointments for the photographer and alterations (took ALL day...) today.  I woke up this morning with a sore throat, but felt fine.  It's been getting progressively worse all day, and now I am SICK!  I'm stuffy, have a headache, feel like I have to sneeze, and my stomach feels flippity floppity.  It's 6:15 and my MIL just ordered me chinese food, then I am going to sleep!

I don't have time to be sick!  I don't get back to Boston for another week, and I have a ton of things to do before then.

The good news is that I submitted my resume for a position at FI's company, and heard back almost instantly!  They told me a little more about the job, and asked my availability and start date, then let me know I'd hear something by the end of this week.  I can't start permanently until May, but it would be nice to come home to a job, since we still haven't sold the house in GA.

Re: Complain...

  • Congrats on the job! I'm sorry you're feeling sick. Hope you feel better. The big day is coming up, isn't it?
  • I hate being sick; here's hoping it passes quickly.

Congrats on the job thing--did they interview you?  I wasn't sure from your post, but asking when you can start is a good sign!  Good luck with the rest of the process.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Thanks ladies!  It hit me really hard, really fast (why I am awake and Nesting at 2:30 am), so I am hoping it blows over soon.

The big day is fast approaching, and there are lots of last minute little things to do, like pick songs for stuff.  But all the big stuff is done, so I'm maintaining the lowest stress level I can.  :)

I haven't actually interviewed for the position- it's a job with FI's company, and they LOVE to hire couples and family members, so that's really why I got a response so soon.  I sent my resume, they asked about availability, I responded, they thanked me and said I'd hear back by the end of this week.  I just got an email asking me to come in and "meet the team" on Wednesday, but I'll be in GA until the 29th (which I told them up front), so I replied with an apology for the misunderstanding, but that I'd love to come in as soon as I return, or I'm available at any time for a phone/online meeting. I'm really hoping I get it- it's part time, 2-3 full days a week, and not even a block from my front door.  That gives me the flexibility I need to get enrolled in classes here, to finish up my degree.

  • Oh man that sucks that you are getting sick! But hopefully it means that you will be perfectly healthy for your wedding, because how many times can you get sick in a month, right? :-P

That is great news about the job possibility though, I hope it works out for you!

  • I hope you feel better soon! Try to find a little time to yourself to rest and relax.
  • Congrats on the job and I hope you feel better soon!!
  • Congrats on the job feedback. but it sounds like you ran yourself into the ground which caused you to get sick. MH does this all the time and I always tell him that he needs to slow down because I don't want DS getting sick. I know that the last few weeks before a wedding is crunch time but try to take a little time to rest. You don't want to be sick or run down for the big day.
