Prayers and help needed
Hey Ladies. I don't usually post things like this but this one hits close to home. Both my daughter are in girl scouts (I am a leader for my oldest and my youngest is in a different troop). Recently my daughters leader helper (she is an 18 year old high school girl that serves as a co-leader in our troop, it is the final level in girl scouts before you become a leader) was diagnosed with cancer. She sent me this letter this morning and it had and has me in tears:
Hey everyone,
So if you don't know I was digsoned with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer on February 12th. I am currently going through chemo and doctors are saying the treatment is working. This is a really hard time for me and my family. We are trying to think positive. The doctors bills and everything is really putting us in debt. I am not allowed to get a job that has me dealing at all with sick people and all i really have done is work with kids so that makes it hard for me. I mean i won't give up looking for one but it's hard.
I heard about this website called Cancer Fears Me. It's a already made fundrasier that helps rasies money for paying bills and essential needs. All you do is go to the website(www.cancerfearsme.org) and you can order anything from shirts to hats to tote bags. When you have decide that you would like to order something and help with my fundrasier. On the page for billing/shipping infor you will need to put my id number which is 238. Putting in this number will mean the profits will go to me.

Thank you for sharing this! I can't imagine getting this letter from one of my high schoolers... I would be a mess.
Cancer is a huge financial strain on a family. I never really realized that until last year when our youth group volunteered for an organization close by that helps families with children with cancer. Hearing about the struggles most families face in addition to the emotional struggle of the family members and the physical struggle of the child was a huge wake up call.
I hope the profits of these items are significant!

That's so tragic. these are exactly the kinds of people that fall through the cracks that would be covered under the new health care plan... not to get all politcal and all.
I do hope she continues to recover and that the finances work themselves out. ((hugs to all))
