Lark, checking in and trying not to bring you down

Hey ladies!

I'm here again.  My grandmother passed away one week ago today, so I have been pretty busy helping the family out and planning things.  They all flew in over the weekend and the service was Monday.  Everyone left again on Tuesday and I have been a little sad since.  I took one whole day off to mope.  I guess it's only natural.  I really felt like she was the only family member out here for me; I do have some cousins who live nearby but I think they have made it pretty clear they don't care about family.  One cousin didn't even come to her funeral.

But, all of this has helped me to realize that life is too short to put up with things that you hate so I have been on a major redecorating kick around our house (Mamie, you would be proud).  I bought new curtains/rods for three rooms, repotted a plant, organized our photo albums, cleaned up the kitchen and my project today is to paint the bathroom and dining room.  Not sure that I'll finish, but I'll start!  For this reason, I will still be in and out all day but I wanted to check in with you.  You all are so nice and I missed you.

Yours, Lark
