Any Tips for No Static in the Office?

I was recently moved to a new office and am having trouble getting clear reception for my radio consistently.  It will be crystal clear for 2 hours and then complete static.  I'd love to be able listen online, but all of those sites are blocked.  Does anyone know a trick for how to keep my strong signal when I get it?

  • Try placing the antenna near something metal.  Or add reynolds wrap to the top of the antenna.  HTH.

  • I totally thought this post was going to be about static electricity.

I think you should put a metal colander on your head and put your finger on the antenna. This will work, I'm sure of it.

OMG!  Terp, you are a genius!  Thanks so much for solving all of my troubles.  The metal colander does the trick!

  • Your welcome! It makes for a fabulous accessory as well :)
  • My antenna is a wire one, so I clip it to one of those picture frame clip things (its metal) (like a clothes pin frame that holds a picture but no frame..), then I move it around when its gets static-y.
