Went to the emergency tonight...

...for our dog...sorry, I knew that get your attention. Wink

Sydney gave us a big scare by throwing up everything in her body...I could not believe how much she threw up! Then acting really listless and not really moving around at all. She laid down and when I picked her up a few minutes later to see if she could stand on her own, she literally pooped while standing still. We got really worried, called our regular vet who said we should have someone look at her.

So off to the emergency vet (open 24hrs) in cobble hill, DH held her in his arms the whole ride over, and then a few minutes after we signed in at the vet she started perking up, being interested in other dogs and wanting to walk around. So instead of spending time waiting and having to spend $$$ for a now-non-emergency, we decided to go home. We're keeping a close eye on her, but she is acting completely normal and back to her old self. Thank goodness!!! Phew!!! At least it only cost us the car service ride over as opposed to the big vet bill we'd probably have had.

On a side note: If I don't go into labor after all the miles I walked today.....I'm going to be really surprised. hahaha.

  • Poor pup, I hope I was just a one time thing. One a side note that Vet ER is great I had to bring my cat there once and they were fabulous.
  • How scary!  I would have done the same thing.  Glad that pup seems to have just had a quick tummy bug though!

  • yea, she's definitely back to her normal self today. although, we're going to 'ease' her back into her food, just in case she still has some tummy troubles. And the ER Vet in cobble hill is great! We've been there a couple times before...lol. great to have that available if needed.
