So I've done something stupid. Last summer I was prescribed zoloft 50mg for postpartum depression. It really helped me a lot. When I first started taking it, I was really good about taking it every day. The past couple months, not so much. I've forgotten to take it for days, then remembered. I don't need it anymore - my PPD is over and I'm getting a lot more sleep and the hormones are back to normal so I want to go off it. So finally after a few weeks of being really inconsistent, I just decided that I would stop taking it thinking that my withdrawal from it would be minor.
Yeah, not so much. I'm getting the textbook SSRI withdrawal symptoms.
UGHHH!!!
On the upside, at least it's not BCP that I've totally screwed the pooch on taking consistently.
Re: holy jeebus dizziness
yeah, I go in next week for my annual. I really want to wean off it. I just took half a tab because I can't handle the weird feeling. I feel like my head is on spin cycle and I keep getting a jolt type feeling down my arms.
I don't think my MW is expecting me to stop w/o consulting her, so I'm just going to see what she wants me to do.
I need to edit that I am on Lexapro, not Zoloft. I misread your post.
And yeah, the jolt-y feeling sucks. Let me know what your MW says how to wean. I am somewhat ahsamed to call my OB and let her know I am still on it.
I've been meaning to buy a pill splitter but just haven't.
I stopped cold turkey when I found out I was PG with Lo. Actually I was taking Buspar and Paxil ha ha Looney Tune... Anyway my doc prescribed them to me when I was planning our wedding.
I seriously was losing perfect quarter size patches.
Being so tired, I don't think I even knew I was going through withdrawls. Definitely do as Beck suggested.
