lol book baning: Palin
I'm watching a UK channel right now. They are rerunning the debates tonight. Before they do that, they are doing a half hour on both Palin and Biden. Palins is almost all about the book banning issue. They actually sent a reporter to Alaska to interview random people from her town about it. Its hilarious. They apparently all know each other, or know of each other. They two sides of residents are attacking each other personally over this.
Its funny stuff.
I'll be interested to see what the Biden half hour is about. This is VERY harsh on Palin so I hope they are the same with Biden. I can't stand Palin, but it would be absurd to show a glowing half hour on Biden after this. They are focusing on the fact that the "religious right took a strong hold after Palin came to power."

You've gotta kinda wonder what they're hearing, too. Like, do Londoners think Palin was mayor just yesterday and all she did was try to ban books? How skewed is the news they're getting? How skewed is the news we're getting for that sake?

Actually over all its pretty balanced. They cover it A LOT. They aired both conventions, will air all debates, and they talk about it on the news every single day. Most people, can talk very intelligently about US politcics.Sadly, I think the average Londoner is more versed in US political issues than the average american. The average person is more for Obama than mccain over here, but thats because there are more liberals over here.
Actually, that is more along the lines of what I've typically heard, but your OP made me question that.

I have had several people ask me "did people REALLY vote for Bush?!?!" but other than that the general discourse on American politics is pretty deep.
There was apparently a British newspaper that had the headline 51% of Americans are stupid after Bush was reelected.
I'm pretty amused how other countries I visit are much more open about their personal politics. I raised being told you never ask someone who you vote for, and you don't bring it up. Then I traveled, and it's like the first question anyone asks me.
