:: Buffalo girls ::

DH bought us Bills season tickets. Part of being a season ticketholder we got invited to the draft party at the end of April. We can go either Friday night or Saturday. Either way, we are going to stay over night and make a weekend of it. I haven't been to the falls in years and we might go to Toronto and see some friends.

I wondered if you have recommendations for places to stay around the stadium? That is where the party will be.

thanks!

Re: :: Buffalo girls ::

  • My house? :)  (Sadly, I don't really think we have space to sleep you guys comfortably)

    There isn't TOO too much right near the stadium.. In the area there is an EconoLodge (eww)... and a bunch of seedy motels.. This Hampton Inn isn't too far away.. I'd say its probably the nicest/closest hotel.. Since its not a game day, Its probably only like a 10ish min drive to the stadium..

    And there is also a Hampton by my house, its more of like a 15 min drive.. http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=BUFEAHX

    If you want something a little different, there is the Roycroft Inn (its historic-y.. it actually reminds me a lot of that place where we went to lunch on the Upstate GTG) and a bunch of B&Bs in East Aurora/Orchard park too

  • Thanks M! The Roycroft Inn sounds nice. I'll look online.

    Once we get everything planned, perhaps we can all try and meet up! DH will of course be with me, but then everyone's DH's can come too. Cocktails and apps?

  • There is a new Holiday Inn Express in Hamburg too.  My parents stay there when they come to visit us and said its really nice.  Its about 10 min from the stadium.  I live right by the stadium and like Melissa said there are no nice hotels right by the stadium.  Staying in Hamburg or East Aurora would probably be best.

  • I'd be up for cocktails.  Dh wouldn't be able to come since he would have to take care of Ethan but I would love to meet you.
  • If you stay at the roycroft, its literally around the corner from my house, so we'd HAVE to get together.. Which weekend is that? Is it 23-25th? DH wants me to take off that Saturday night to go to a concert.. so I'm not sure whats going on other than that.. Weekends suck for me... but I'd work something out.

  • jewels and Melissa - it is the weekend of the 23rd. The party is Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm. Then we can just galavant around and do whatever! I'll let you know when our plans come together.
  • I live in EA too!

    Of course, the Roycroft is the nicest place to stay in town.  Very old country inn and the food is amazing.  But, the Hampton Inn in EA is also nice if you want a little less expensive.  When we moved here, we stayed there and they had a very nice breakfast included with the room. Better than normal hotel continental which is usually bagels and coffee.
