Tmobile phone

Does anyone have a Tmobile plan with a phone they actually like?

I just upgraded to a flip phone with camera (from my old bar phone whose fanciest feature was that the screen had color, not just black and white!), but the battery life is horrible, and I really don't want an unreliable phone with a LO around.

Re: Tmobile phone

  • I have tmobile for both my work and personal phone. For work, I have a blackberry and for personal, I have a G1. G1's battery life also sucks especially if you have to use the web browser all the time. If you just use it for calls, you should be fine. The blackberry has very good battery life. I can go on days without recharging it.

Do I need a different plan for those?  I have a talk plan and a text add-on plan currently.  I just don't want to pay a gajillion dollars for this service as well as the phone.

  • for G1, i think you need to get their web plan. for blackberry, not sure. if you only use for phone and text, you may want to get a phone with simpler features. my company pays for my bberry service and i use it mostly for work email. i am sure you don't wanna pay a lot for the phone and not use all its features. check with tmobile. you may be up for a free phone upgrade?
  • yes for blackberry and g1 you need a separate data plan but i don't think it is that much more.  i have a motorolla clique that i like -it took me a while to get used to it though-switched from a black berry

  • We've been with T-Mobile for several years and love their customer service.  We weren't using close to our minutes each month (Family Plan they don't even offer anymore) so we decided to terminate that plan (it was expired) and go with their pre-paid plans.  We got Motorola Renew phones that have 9 hour batteries!  We're thrilled with this new approach...it's saved us $120/mo.

Unfortunately, I've done the math on the prepaid phones and it would cost me more with my usage, but that's a great tip - both my parents have switched to that.  Thanks for the recommendation on the phones - I will check them out!

I just did the free upgrade on Saturday to this phone.  I have 14 days to return it though and get something else.

I checked at the mall last night, and the data plans (mixed with phone plan) start at $80.  oy. I'm gonna try to stick with the regular phones I think, since that's basically all I use it for.
