Polling Place and Married Name

ugh. The board of elections sent us postcards telling us our polling place but of course they used my maiden name. I called and the woman was just like "just use your married name". guh? Do I need to show proof beyond my Driver's license (with my married name on it) that I am the same person?

annoying....

Re: Polling Place and Married Name

  • It's weird the DMV didn't notify the Board of Elections when you changed your name.  Do you have to show id where you are?
  • in WA, you have to fill out the voter's registration form again and check the 'name change' box.

thats what I said! I mean I changed it at the DMV  like 2 years ago. I guess its no biggie though and i can just make a note of it to them there.
