Pics from our new house

I'm not good at posting photos, so let me see if this works.

Here are some not-so-good iphone pics of the new house.

We're painting the living room this brown color.  I've been painting all the trim from an orangey oak color to a high gloss white, but we're going to leave that beam natural wood.

The kitchen's in the background with the nasty oak, and you can see where we've painted the baseboards white.  I hate all the tile, but it must stay.

Here's our painted front door.  It was oak panneling before and now it's the same as the trim color.  I also painted the door frame from oak to white.  The same brown will be painted around the door.

  • Eeek they're too big.

Where do I edit the code to resize them?

  • Gorgeous!! I love the paint choice, and the door looks fabulous! You're really giving me inspiration to just repaint our front door instead of replacing. And I have the same thoughts on oak trim as you do. :-/

  • Here's the same view from before with the seller's furniture.  You can't see the walls as well because her furniture was too big for the space, but it may help.

  • Oooh I love your backyard.  I'm jealous of those ferns (at least I think they are ferns).  I think the paint looks great and I would have had to do the same thing with the trim... oak reminds me of my parents.  My brother just redid his whole house and it looked really good until he decided to put oak trim in everywhere.
  • Only pic I can see right now is the one of the front of the house, so I'll be commenting sometime after 6, unless my wonky photo restrictions magically let the others appear before then :)
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I think they're sago palms, hawki, but I'm not sure.  The seller has tons of great plants all over, but I really don't know how to care for them.

Leigha--I took pics and you can't even see them!?!?!  We need a new job for you.

Thanks for the compliments on the paint y'all.  I got it on the D&R paint bio:

  • I've totally selected my guest bedroom paint color from that bio.

The house is awesome! Ditto on new job for Leigha. Unacceptable.

We got this paint color from there.  This is the office in Valspar's Academy Blue.  We're having a guy come today to look into installing crown molding.  The ceiling is popcorn and it's an awful seam.

  • Your house looks great! I love the backyard. I hate our wood trim. I want to paint it, but I am too afraid to try to do ALL of ours.

  • Looks great. It's crazy how much a room can change in looks just by doing something simple like changing the paint color.
  • Wow it looks beautiful! I love your backyard too.
