Finally Friday!!

Longest week ever. Days go by so slowly when you don't have a million meetings with realtors, mortgage brokers, and inspectors.

Weekend plans?

Re: Finally Friday!!

  • Ugh... I wish I had stuff like that to break up the monotony of work these days.  I'm busy but its all so boring.  I hate dealing with the government which is pretty much what I'm doing 90% of my time these days.

As for the weekend, we are heading to West Virginia this afternoon to meet up with my roomie from college and her fiance.  She just got engaged a couple weeks ago so we thought we would make a quick weekend trip and meet them halfway (they live in Maryland) so Charleston, WV here we come.

  • Boo for monotony! How's the new business coming along?

We're also going away this weekend. It's our annual winery trip to the Finger Lakes. DH and I got engaged there two years ago. :)  I need to prep my body for 48 hours of wine and Caribbean food.

  • Tonight--dinner and then basketball.  Season is almost over, have to watch all we can.

Saturday--fabric hunt. My Hobby Lobby ran out of the material I wanted so I have to hit them all until I find it.  Then working on the chairs hopefully and crafting all day. I'll probably throw in some dog park and working out in there.

Sunday--boot camp and then more of the same. :)  Maybe, for Mamie's sake, I'll update my 101 blog.

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • Hawki, you are going to be like an hour away from me!

As for me, we have no plans. DH is going to a farm auction to try to find a little trailer for he 4 wheeler, wow we sound hick. I on the other hand have to work till noon tomorrow (oh, darn I can't go to the auction Confused). Then Sunday, we will probably do dinner with my parents, but that is yet to be determined.

It is going to be a pretty boring weekend around here.

  • Mames... I've had a couple of orders which is good.  I've decided I need to get a couple clients with little kids so I can hopefully get some word of mouth advertising in the kid's birthday cake dept.  That's the hardest part about being somewhere I haven't lived all that long, most of the people I know are my own age but I think its happening, albeit slowly.

Kaley... Anything fun to do in the Charleston area?  We dont have high expectations but we got a hotel room downtown and just plan on seeing what's around, we'll likely just find a bar and watch some basketball tonight.

  • This was the longest week ever!

Tonight I am going to clean and bake some spring themed sugar cookies, since K's nieces (4 and 6) are coming over tomorrow to meet the Dill.

Tomorrow I'll visit my dad at the rehabilitation center (he's starting to walk with a walker!). I also hope to clear out the few remaining boxes that sit around the house. And i bought some cute white herb pots for my kitchen, so I'm going to plant some herbs, and use my old pots to plant starter flowers & veggies for my garden, so they can be ready to plant outside after the last frost.

Then I'd like to narrow down which room will be my first house redec project... and maybe even purchase some paint :-)

oooh you're going to the FingerLakes?? Which wineries to you go to?? It's not a bad drive for me to get there, and have driven by a million times, but sadly, I have never gone on a winery tour. Lame.

  • Hawki - Honestly, not really. There is the Clay Center, but it is an interactive science and discovery museum. I have never been, but I think it is geared toward young kids. It's a shame it isn't baseball season, because Appalachian Power Park is really nice for a minor league game. They have good food, and the team is usually pretty good. The restaurant connected to the stadium is always crowded. They showed it last night on the news during the WVU game and it was crazy. I think it is called Power Alley Grill. There are some really nice parks around, if you wanted to go just hang out in the sun. I think it is supposed to be nice this weekend. We mostly go there to the mall. Out on Corridor G there is a lot of restaurants and shopping, but it is all mostly chain stuff. Sorry I'm not much help!

Seneca Lake for their annual "Cruisin' the Tropics" tour! It's like 32 wineries in two days. The weekend special packages are fun, but you could just go on a random weekend too. It's only $30 for the weekend, and there's sooo much food and wine you end up feeling like you gained 40 lbs by Sunday night.

No worries... we kinda figured as much.  We are really only going there because its half way between us so it makes a do-able weekend trip.  We'll find something to do, we dont care.  We can sit in the hotel room and have a good time :)

  • TGIF!!

I am getting my nails done after work and then heading to a wedding! I am really excited. My DH is shooting video for it, so we won't get to hang out as much as usual, but still a good time.

Tomorrow- no plans! And I can't wait. We need to do some spring cleaning, hit the gym, etc...

Sunday- another lazy day I hope! We have been going at a million miles lately (put an offer in for a condo yesterday!) and need time at home. Sunday night we are having dinner at some friends' place. I've been off of school this week and it's wonderful. Starts up again Tuesday :(

  • Today - probably leaving work for the day around 1. I need to pack and run some errands before catching a 6:30 flight to Atlanta.

Tomorrow - Baby shower! And shopping for things I can't get in the middle of Illinois. I also got tickets for my mom and me to go see the Atlanta Ballet tomorrow night. Yay!

Sunday - Probably church, then relaxing and taking a flight back home.

  • My book chapter for the anthology is due to my editor today, so I'll be spending most of my day glued to my keyboard.

Tomorrow we have two (yes, two) birthday parties to go to -- one at 5:00, one at 8:00

Sunday, DH and I are going to Disneyland :)

  • Finally spending time with DH after working opposite schedules for a few weeks.  We are going out with some of his co-workers tomorrow night for a little while and maybe to visit some other friends.  Other than that putting everything away/cleaning our apt. so I can finally post pics!

  • Thank you ladies! We put in a VERY aggressive offer on a condo that is just around the corner from where we live now. It's a WONDERFUL area, but the condo is owned by a relocation company and our realtor says often they will bargain more. So we will see!
