We got an offer on the house and countered back! Now just waiting to hear what the buyer comes back with. Looks like we'll be looking at houses this weekend!!!!!!!

I hope they come back soon and accept the counter - are these the same people who asked for a quick close?

Yes it was much lower then our asking...$14,000 lower actually, which was already listed at $15,000 below what we paid for it 4 years ago. They want to close on April 28th so yes a very quick close!

What's the average closing time in your area? Most of the closings we do are a 30 day (or less) closing. When you said quick I was thinking 10 to 15 days! haha. I wouldn't wish a 15 day closing on anyone. That's what we did ours in and it was incredibly stressful for us (purchasing - the buyers didn't really care because they had already moved).

I think the standard around here is just over a month. I think the buyers just wanted to be sure we closed well before the 1st time homebuyers credit expired. All the other houses in the area that are the same are empty so they probably wanted to ensure we didn't need like 3 months???

Ohh...now THAT makes a lot of sense. I forgot about that credit expiring. I hope they buy your house! I can't wait to see the potential houses you will look at (which means you better be emailing me some links because I'm quite nosy Wink ). Are there still credits for non-first time home buyers? I know there were some but I can't remember when they expire.
