What to bring for sick friend?
My friend suffered a stroke on Wed and we got the Ok to visit her tomorrow. She's young (29 yo) and she is awake and alert now. What do you think we should bring to give her? Flowers? Food? Baked goods? A stuffed animal of her favorite korean cartoon character?
Are hospital patients allowed to eat outside food? I want to give her something to comfort her or cheer her up. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you so much.
Re: What to bring for sick friend?
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend...that is terrible! I hope she gets well soon.
As for what to bring...what do you think she will enjoy most? I agree with Joanna...edible errangements is a lovely idea, but before you send it, call the hospital and ask if she can eat outside food. It's on a case by case basis, so not everyone is restricted. But, I'm thinking...if she had a stroke, is she even able to eat? Definitely call first. Best wishes with your friend...
I am so sorry to hear about your friend. It seems like more and more young people are getting strokes.
I would bring her the stuffed animal since you know so much about it and then find out from her husband or family member if you can bring some food as well. Or at least some juice/water. Very thoughtful of you.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone! We did find out that she couldn't eat food yet, but manage to finish a popsicle, so progress! We brought her some magazines as 315bride suggested which she loved and a brain teaser book to keep her occupied.
Thank you again!
