Re: House Update

  • yay! happy dance :)
  • And you've already started PACKING!!!!!!!!!! lol

I didn't pack until the 2 days before we moved...it was hell. Well, I packed the stuff we didn't need within the 30 days, but everything else that we used on a daily basis...got packed in those last 2 days!! lol

Just wondering, did you already give notice on your apt, too? What happens if you can't move in the date you want? Did you allow yourself any extra time in case something happens, or postpones the closing?

We haven't given our notice yet.  We were thinking of going to talk to the management this weekend to see if we give them a date if we can push it out a week or two.  My old apt was so flexible, but I am not sure how this place will be.

  • Just keep in mind, some places require a 30 day notice if you decide to move. Or a fee will be given if you are breaking a contract, look into it, and just see what you need to do. You might need to draft a letter to your apt manager.

Yes, we do have to give a 30 day written notice.  We want to talk to them about their flexibility in case we end up needing an extra 4-7 days.

  • Yeah Becky future homeowner!!!!!!! I'm going to try and send you a picture of the paint from my house, so you have it. I promise I'm sending it to you!!!

  • So exciting!

The appraisal comes before your inspections though?

We just did inspection (just general maintenance type things)...appraisal looks like it will happen next week. I haven't packed a single thing yet (eek!)

. Yes, appraiser first. Our realtor said if the house doesn't appraise for what we are buying it for no need in spending the money on inspections.
