My SBIL is a real POS. He's my age, 27, and really smart but lazy as shiit. So he has worked at Costco, pumping gas, for the last several years. Last June he joined the Navy and went to basic training. About half way through he suffered a "knee injury". The Navy couldn't find anything wrong with him and eventually sent him home. He tried unsuccessfully tried to get his old job back and got a part time job at Diick's just to get my IL's off of his back. They weren't giving him many hours and I asked why he didn't get another job. His response? Why would I do that? I would be working 2 jobs making less than I did before. He was literally working like 8 hours a week.
Then he found some provision with the Costco union for people given an honorable discharge from the military. They had to give him his job back AND give him $11,000 worth of back pay! Why the Navy gave him and honorable discharge, I have no idea.
I don't want anybody to pay my way but COME ON! Last week I worked 70 hours, between two jobs, and barely made more than I used to at one (working 40 hours). Why do people like this always get away with being such a drain on society?
Re: ::Rant:: about how the world works
Hmmm... I would've thought he would have gotten a medical discharge.
I agree though, I have no idea hwo people can do that. I feel bad enough just being on unemployment, and I've been looking for work.
Exactly.
