I found someone tonight that REALLY loves Jesus.
When Dylanite and I were in line to buy tickets for Religulous, there was a group of ladies dissing Obama in front of us. I noticed that one of them was wearing a huge, diamond Jesus pin. Apparently the best way to tell Jesus you love him is with a gold and diamond sparkly Jesus pin!
I just thought it was comical that we ended up in line behind these ladies when we were going to see Religulous

OMG! ?My dad's secretary in GA used to wear one. ?I was in 7th grade, and he warned me about it specifically before I met her, knowing how I would react.
How was the movie??
I can't say I've ever seen a Jesus pin
I saw Religulous tonight too. The theater was almost completely full. The audience was laughing so much I couldn't hear all of the dialogue. I always enjoy Bill Maher when he does his "on the street" interviews. I give it a
I thought you were talking about the poster in the above thread
We tried REALLY hard to get a picture. Dylanite was holding up his iPhone and trying to be discrete to get a picture, but she kept moving. Damn her!
The pin just said Jesus in cursive with the diamonds and gold. I am sure Jesus is proud
Reeve, the quote is from the song "No More" on the soundtrack.?
2Vermont - its not so much mocking as it is saying that if people believe in this, and believe in the end of the world, what motivation do they have to make the world that they actually live in a better place? Yes, its a comedy, so they certianly laugh at certain of the more over the top aspects. I dont think that devout religious people would probably enjoy it. It also questions the origin of religion. Basically, its a lot of questioning of religious people.
OK, it was just like this, but cursive:

I also found these gems when I was looking for a pic of the pin:

THANK YOU! That is most excellent! Although the "Satan Sucks" in your other post is also excellent. I've seen the light - instead of paying off my credit card next month, I'm going to get a gold-and-diamond Jesus pin! Then Jesus will know how much I love him. I am SO getting into heaven!
That's sad, and shows that he doesn't really know anything about Christianity - since "the point" is to make our world a better place - but I can't say I am surprised. What he is describing is more so a cult mentality - which I agree is dangerous and stupid.
Glad that people found it humorous. I might rent it at some point.
OK, then it's clear I shouldn't see this movie...LOL. However, I'm glad to see that there is actually a real point to it...that could be seen as productive. I hope the motivation is sincere. If it pushes us religious folks to do more positive things, great.
Having said that, I do hope that the religious people don't come off as stupid or "ridiculous" (for example, just to make a point I could see him selecting interviews with those folks that come across as dumb or crazy as opposed to interviews with those of us who are intelligent and level headed).
As for the "Jesus" pin, that's not my style.
My dad's secretary's pin looked like this:
I like how it's also understated.

Thats it!?
