Just got a call from my mother.
Apparently I'm going to be an aunt. Because my idiot brother has knocked up his just-turned-18 year old girlfriend.
And my mother is "excited."
And who says Bristol isn't influencing the world? ::sigh::
Re: NER: Oh dear god
I am a runner, knitter, scientist, DE-IVF veteran, and stage III colon cancer survivor.
Epphd,
Thanks for the support. I wish I could feel more excited for them....
There are so many good, responsible people in this world who have been trying to have children for the longest time (yourself included, apparently) and then two kids who were too careless to use birth control find themselves facing the prospect of parenthood before they can even support themselves.
You were right. It's not fair.
Seriously?
I just found out from my sister that they were TRYING to get pregnant.
WTF.
Sometimes, man, sometimes I really just wish my family wasn't quite so Springer-esque.
Parker every family is crazy, you are not alone.
My bestfriend( and her mom) always have to (1)check their credit (2) place fraud alerts on them.....anytime after her aunt visits.
Sorry I always respond to stories like these, with stories I think are more triflin. Just to let you know you are not alone.
Wow. Well, being an aunt will be exciting.
Congrats?
Being an aunt is awesome. When the baby's being all crazy, you get to give it back
Hope all goes well, even if unexpected.
Okay, definitely sounds like you and I grew up in different types of midwestern families. My parents would NOT be excited about a teen pregnancy.
Anyway, luckily the kid will have you, and you can be the cool aunt to show him/her that there is a world outside of [Ohio?].
This is a tough post to respond to because you are not excited or looking for congrats. I don't think so anyway. Just go easy on your brothers girlfriend.
Certainly not the best circumstances, but congratulations on becoming an aunt. I hope for the best for them.
