Entertaining Visitors in Raleigh
What are some of your favorite places to take visitors in, or near, Raleigh?
My parents are coming to town this weekend and we are looking for some new ideas!
Re: Entertaining Visitors in Raleigh
We do a quick tour of downtown Raleigh in the car and then stop at one of our favorite restaurants for lunch.
Flea Market at the Fair Grounds is fun.
We haven't been yet, but the Farmer's Market downtown is on our list.
Franklin Street in Chapel Hill I've heard is fun to walk around.
This weekend is going to be gorgeous & the flowers are just starting to bloom, so maybe head out to the Duke Gardens - walk around & have a picnic lunch (we did this last weekend when it was nice out - except the flowers weren't quite in bloom yet).
State Farmer's Market is always fun, but it is still pretty limited for produce...but not for too long.
The IMax theater at Marbles is fun to see a movie.
Some friends who visited us did a Segway tour of downtown Raleigh. We didn't go with them, but they said it was pretty neat.
While the art museum isn't open yet - all the trails around the museum are and there's big sculpture art along them - I love going there in the spring/summer. And there are picnic tables to use too.
Cameron Village is fun to wander around and shop and grab a bite to eat (plus there's a Goodberry's there now!)
Is the Museum of Art open yet? We've taken my parents to brunch at the museum cafe then walked around for a bit.
ETA: just saw KrispyChicken (sp) comment, apparently it's not open yet.
