What's your idea of a perfect weekend, or a weekend well spent?
Not necessarily like - your dream weekend that happens once - but just a regular ol' weekend.
Re: weekend poll
My idea of a great weekend varies from week to week.
Sometimes I don't want to do anything, not taking a shower until 1 is just perfection, and I could care less about what is going on in the outside world.
Other weekends I really feel like there are several things I either need or want to do, and nothing makes me happier than getting those things done.
One thing that I always want no matter what, is spend a lot of "down time" with Ted. Just a lot of relaxing, hanging out, doing nothing.
I hate cleaning on the weekends, so I try to make sure I get that stuff done during the week & spend a couple hours on Friday getting it done so I don't have to worry about it.
I get an abnormal amount of joy from grocery shopping on Friday or Saturday nights. I really am an Old Married. LOL.
Friday night would be spent hanging out with DH at home just relaxing, something simple cooked for supper. Saturday we'd sleep in a little bit, then I would go off to town to go to the bank, get a few groceries, and maybe do a couple other errands. Stop over at the IL's to hang our for a little bit, end up eating lunch there (usually DH was over there already helping his dad/brother) Then home to work on some other house stuff (besides cleaning - waiting for the warm weather to tackle spring cleaning outside!) Then we probably wouldn't even realize it was time to go in because we'd be doing so good outside, so we'd have a quick supper/leftovers and veg out on the couch and watch a movie. Sunday we'd get up for church, and head back home again and be a little lazy until after lunch and then maybe do some more outside or maybe run and do some shopping in nearby towns.
hope that I had cleaned up the house well enough during the week for not worry about house work the rest of the weekend.
My perfect weekends only happen in the summer time. Let's also pretend that I'm not PG for the moment on this one...
Friday- leave work no later than 5:30 so I'm home by 6:30. Enjoy several glasses of Pinot Grigio and just relax. (Play on the computer, watch tv with DH.)
Saturday- In the morning, catch up on my DVR. In the afternoon, hang out at the pool with DH and frozen dacquiris. Go out to dinner and hang out with some friends for game night or something else low key. (These activities also include Pinot, of course.)
Sunday- Relax, get the usual household stuff done and get ready for the week. (This isn't ideal, but I'm trying to keep it realistic.)
Can you tell that at nearly 6 months PG, I miss my alcohol dearly?
Yet another thing that we have in common! LOL
Like Sarah, it really depends on the weekend for me.
Lately, all I have been doing is photography sessions on the weekends, so it feels like I haven't had much down time. Right now my ideal weekend would be to have some nice weather and be able to have a fire at our house. We like to do fires during the summer, have a few friends over, & just hang out drinking beers.
Going out to dinner on a random friday night with friends is always nice too!
I also like weekends when we enjoy spending time outside together-walking, bike riding, putzing around the yard, etc. or watching a good movie or show & snuggling on the couch together.
