Anyone out there?

Slooooow board today!!

As geriatric as it sounds, I was in bed by 9pm last night. I think that should be a new Sunday tradition to fight off the Monday grumps.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Anyone out there?

  • I was just getting ready to come over here and post. I knew you were out there at least because I saw your reply to my post on D&R.

My weekend was good. Pretty boring. J went to the auction Saturday but luckily didn't buy anything. Then he only got 2 hours of sleep before going into work night shift which meant he was a peach yesterday.

The highlight of my weekend was finally finding the yellow shower curtain I wanted. Ikea had it online, but it was in store only. I found a seller on Ebay that had six of them. I was so excited. Now I can finally finish our guest bath!

    How was your weekend?

  • Happy Engagement Anniversary Mames!!!
  • I need to see this elusive shower curtain!!

We did our annual Cruisin' the Tropics tour at the Finger Lakes this weekend, though the weather was far from tropical. :(  Too much food and wine to pack in two days. My body is craving fruit and veggies right now.

  • Aww, thanks A!!  (It didn't even hit me yet this morning, though I *knew* it was today!) Even W mentioned it last night.

  • It is nothing special at all. It is a plain yellow shower curtain. I searched high and low for this thing. I found one on target.com, but I didn't have time to buy it right then and forgot about it for a few days. Then when I got on there to buy it, they were sold out. They didn't have it in our store either. I looked everywhere imaginable. Except Ikea apparently. They had one but it was in-store only, so I checked Ebay. Sure enough there it was.

  • I'm here, desperately trying not to fall asleep and actually get some work done. Unsuccessful so far.

Weekend was okay. I definitely impressed DH by finishing a project the same day I started it!  But considering DH worked ALL weekend (like 9 to midnight Saturday, and 11 to 10 yesterday), I was getting a little lonely and sad by yesterday evening.  2 days is too long without extensive human interaction!

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • kaley - it's really cute! I'm glad your search is over. :)

leigha - yay for your project! Maybe you'll inspire me to start some of my projects -- less fun b/c they contain cleaning/pitching random junk/packing.

  • Mamie I'm with you on the too much food and drinks in one weekend... I can't get enough water this morning.

We had a great weekend in West Virginia... although Kaley you were defnitiely right... not much to do.  We ended up going to some random pizza place Friday night and then drinking at the hotel.  Saturday we went to a farmers market, then to the Greyhound track/casino for a couple hours, out to lunch and then did a bar crawl through Charleston and ended up watching basketball.  Turned out to be a party since WVU was playing Kentucky.

Getting in the car to come home was hard yesterday because I dont get to see my best friend again until August.  I hate that we live so far apart.

  • Oh, and I spent part of yesterday evening perusing hawki's blog for dessert ideas for the shower I'll be throwing in May. So many I want to try!  Once I come up with a theme, I'll pick the cupcakes, but I'm hoping to somehow fit the chocolate cherry coke cupcakes in somehow!

  • I'm here - just got out of a meeting.  Not a lot happened this weekend.  We didn't get nearly as much done as we wanted to around the house but oh well.

I haven't decided if it is easier to get things done at home with or without DH.  By myself I go 100 mph, get into a rhythm and no one gets in my way.  With DH I get completely distracted and frustrated because he wants continual direction.  It's an extra set of hands but by the time I walk him through what I'm working on, I could just as well do it myself.  sigh.

  • Sorry hawki!

How was the dog track? I have never been, but some of J's friends try to get us to come all the time. It just doesn't seem like it would be my kind of thing.

I totally feel you. I try to kick my H out of the apt on weekends so I can just do stuff and not feel like I have to entertain him. He usually gets in my way anyway.

  • I'm here for a little while before my lab at 3. Spent the morning learning about the action potentials of neurons, voltage gated sodium channels and different types of synapses so now my brain is mush.

It's not... I didnt want to go because I hate the idea of dog racing but they weren't having live races anyway.  But gambling does nothing for me so I spent $20 in the nickel slots while the guys played blackjack for a while.  I would play blackjack but it was $10 minimum in the middle of a saturday which seemed high to me and I didnt want to lose a bunch of money.

Let me know if you can't find something that works - I have lots of other ideas for desserts in my head too.

  • I'm here too. Have been spending my morning at work checking email, balancing my checkbook, updating registries, and basically not getting work done. Since it's only an hour until lunch, I figure the morning's shot anyway so I may as well nest/bump.

My weekend in Atlanta was good, though my Mom throwing a baby shower basically meant I had to rush around to help her get ready for it on Saturday morning. She had just gotten back from a 2-wk business trip on Friday and just moved into this new apartment a month ago, so she was a bit frazzled to say the least. We pulled it together in time for the 3 pm shower, and it was a lot of fun. As my gift to her, I got her tickets to a dinner/ballet that night. My poor Mom was asleep for the majority of the ballet, but I liked it. Then on Sunday we just relaxed and took a trip to BRU before I flew back home. Good weekend, but of course DH didn't do anything around the house so there's lots to do in the evenings this week to clean up.

  • I'm distractedly here. I've got a to-do list about six miles long (stupid "Spring Break"...they should just call it "a week without classes to do all the stuff you've failed to do that you should've already done but can't because you're so damn busy during the regular semester").

Weekend was awesome though. Went to a surprise party for a friend on Saturday night at this cute little cafe by the ocean. Yesterday was my & DH's nine-month-aversary, so we spent the day at Disneyland.

  • Friday we went out with a couple of friends to eat and watch the Ohio State game.  Saturday did a ton of shopping. Sunday got to finally see Michael Buble.  He was amazing!  Also booked our trip to California for the end of April.  He has another show in Los Angeles so I am going to see if it is when we are there.
  • We went to NYC this weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. She had a huge party that got shut down by the cops on Friday night and Saturday, she chartered a boat ride around Manhattan with an open bar. It was a fun night but I have to admit I am still recovering!
