What are you all doing for your anniversary? What'd you get your DHs?
We're not sure yet. Ours is a Monday. Boo. DH has a baseball game that Saturday (one of the few home games I can actually get to) so he'll coach that, then we might head down to the Shenandoah Valley and spend the night somewhere and take a drive on Skyline Drive on Sunday....but part of me wants to just do the Skyline trip without the overnight and go out to a nice meal instead. And - I'm a bad wife here - I haven't gotten DH anything. I have no idea what to get him. So part of me wants to say no gifts this year but I'm kind of afraid that DH already got me something ![]()
Re: Anniversary Plans?
Our anniversary is on a Monday and we have practice (wind ensemble), and it's the last practice we can make before our biggest concert of the year. There's one after that but we'll be out of town and the conductor is already unhappy about that, so we figure we can't skip on our anniversary.
But a coworker is getting married the Saturday before, so we're going to use that to celebrate! Open bar, and their reception is right next to a casino (about an hour from our house), so we rented a hotel room there Saturday night.
I got DH a hockey jersey at the game on Saturday, and he already has it.

yeah I only thought about gifts when I was typing this post up...so yeah I'm thinking no gifts too haha
he's going to be a wonderful gift
this.exactly.
DH is stuck on staying with the traditional gifts so something cotton it is! Apparently he spent some time looking for a cotton blossom bouquet (I am thinking he was thinking about bath and body works- ha ha)
We are going out of town the weekend before our anniversary but the entire thing of it falling on a Monday is a bummer BUT we have both have taken it off!
Yeah ours is on a Monday, I just got a nice dinner planned at home. I'm still combing my cookbooks for the ultimate romantic meal. I made Osso Bucco last year which was an ultra hearty meal. I'm considering lamb chops, but it's a protein that I usually don't prepare...so I'm iffy on preparing it. I want to make Grand Mariner souffles for dessert though or something.
We're most likely going to go up to Sonoma for more wine tasting at the end of the month for a little easy vacay. Eric is being shifted to work in Sacramento in 2 weeks, so I'll go up and visit him again.
we have talked about it but have not made plans. MIL and SIL will be here for the weekend and it is MIL bday on the 10th so we will be doing something for her. we will probablly go out for a nice dinner.
No gifts this year since we are planning a family trip to Disney World in May for a week.
Private chef dinner on Sunday. B asked if we have to dress up since we'll be in our own home. I insist that we do
Couples Spa day on Monday.
We are exchanging small gifts (at least mine is small). I got B a t-shirt that I know he'll love.

We are going to Aruba 3 weeks after our anniversary so we arent doing anything here at home. My mom gave us money last year to eat at this fantastic resturant where the table is in the sand and your feet are slightly in the water. So we are planning on doing that again this year while we are down there. Below are a few pictures I am AWing to make it worth the wait for my anniversary dinner.
That sounds like fun!
